Hibberdene Blue Flag beach, Hibberdene is proudly  one of only eight blue flag beaches in KwaZulu-Natal. A Blue Flag is an award given to beaches which meet the stringent criteria of the International Blue Flag Campaign, managed in South Africa by the Wildlife & Environmental Society of South Africa (WESSA). Blue Flag status assures you that beaches are clean, safe & environmentally friendly.

  • Hibberdene Ski Boat club, offering a number of charters’ accommodating first timers to the experience deep sea expert. The Hibberdene Ski Boat club proudly hosts the couta classic, arguably the largest Ski Boat competitions in Africa.
  • Hibberdene Bowling club, The new green was built and taken into use in 1972. Currently the club is proud to host 67 members. The Club is also home to the Convenor and Secretary of the Coaches Standing Committee for this district. The club has a very proud history of bowlers being selected on District Level
  • Jolly Roger Pub located directly on the Hibberdene blue flag beach. With their legendary Hibberdene hospitality. Parents, friends and family will feel welcome and can enjoy the warm and friendly facilities while the kids tuck down on pizzas for lunch or play Putt-putt and enjoy the water slide in a safe an secure environment.
  • Golf courses at Umzumbe, Selbourne, Port Shepstone Country Club and Margate Golf course. All gold courses are within 20 to 25 km from Lodge.Please contact Mzimayi River Lodge for our group packages including tee-off time drop-off and collection.
  • Oribi Gorge: Game farm, Leopards Rock Restaurant and the world famous Lake Eland zip and swing line.
  • Waffle House in Ramsgate, serving wholesome, freshly made Belgian waffles since 1991. The waffle house in ramsgate takes care in the preparation of all food including the use of whole foods and quality ingredients.
  • Crocworld Scottburgh, spread out over 24 hectares and laid out in a park like setting with walkways meandering through it.  The indigenous  gardens were developed as a showcase and to inspire visitors on how to garden successfully with indigenous plants at home.   There are plenty of shady trees and benches if you want to sit down and take in the scenery.
  • Riverbend Crocodile farm Established in 1981, has entertained more than 2.5 Million people since it’s inception. Established as the first commercial crocodile farm in South Africa, Riverbend continues to diversify. Now also home to one of the finest selections of wine in the region and an art gallery, which is home to the works of leading South African artists.
  • Pistols Saloon and Wild West Museum, At the Pistols Saloon in Ramsgate, Huckleberry the donkey is one of the favourite patrons and a regular face at the bar. He drinks Coke (from the can), eats carrots and is pampered by all the other patrons. This family bar and museum in Old Main Road, Ramsgate is definitely not your usual hang-out.
  • Pure Venom snake park in Margate, raising awareness on reptiles through daily run park, schools, workshops and public events. Offering a petting zoo with farm animals and exotic birds.
