March Specials – It’s like being part of the family

Take advantage of the amazing restaurant specials that are on until the end of March.

GOOD old-fashioned hospitality is what the new owners of the Mzimayi River Lodge have reintroduced to this Hibberdene landmark.

Eugene and Rene van Rensburg are excited for the future and are in the process of upgrading all the facilities at the Lodge.

“We want people to feel at home here,” says Rene, “and the location is perfect for those who need to get away from it all. We go out of our way to ensure they relax and enjoy their time with us.”

This 3-star lodge has much to offer guests and local alike. All the rooms are comfortable with DSTV, air conditioning and ceiling fans. Tea and Coffee facilities are provided in each unit and the rooms are fully serviced.

The a-la-carte restaurant is renowned for its delicious wholesome meals and is fully licenced.
The conference facilities have been completely upgraded and are perfect for small events such as weddings, birthday celebrations, church meetings, club award evenings or even a family reunion. The fully licenced pub has a large screen TV and pool table. For those who want to try their hand at winning, the V-slots are a popular way to gamble away the time.

“If a customer needs to book out the entire lodge for a private function, we will customise everything to suit their needs,” said Rene with a smile. “We are very flexible and can offer many options to accommodate a client’s request.”

Eugene, with a background in the hospitality industry, is passionate about the new venture and had this to say, “Rene and I are hands-on owners and are busy streamlining everything to ensure it is up to standard and running smoothly. It’s all about putting our personal stamp on the place and putting it back on the map as an affordable and respectable establishment.
It is indeed the perfect spot to chill and take the load off. Out on the verandah, overlooking a sparkling blue pool, the views of Hibberdene and the winding river, are unsurpassed and add to the charm of the place.

“We are running some unbelievable restaurant specials until the end of March, says Eugene, “and you get a free glass of wine with your meal.” “The chicken schnitzel with chips and sauce is going for only R39.50, hake and chips or rice just R42.50, grilled pork chop with mash and veg R49.50 and for steak lovers, a 300g rump steak with chips for only R65.00. When you add in the glass of wine, you can see just how ridiculously low these prices really are.”

It’s all about the personal touch and this warmhearted couple offer guests a place that is more like a home from home.
